Kingdome, Safeco Field featured in throwback tweet from the Mariners

It seems fitting the Mariners would pull out a photo with a peak-a-boo view of the Kingdome 15 years after it was blown up.

The Mariners tweeted a photo of crews laying turf for the outfield at Safeco. The old Kingdome is front and center, looming above the right field bleachers.

Seattle historian Feliks Banel said it was 15 years ago on March 26, a sunny Sunday morning, that crews imploded the Kingdome to make room for a future CenturyLink Field.
