Pregnant teenager shot in South Seattle neighborhood

A pregnant teenager was shot in the stomach early Friday morning in Seattle’s Dunlap neighborhood.
A police spokesperson told KING 5 that her baby was killed. The family said she was about five months pregnant with a baby girl.
Seattle police received multiple 9-1-1 calls about gun shots heard near Rainier Avenue South and South Rose Street at 1:45 a.m.
When officers arrived in the area, they found a 19-year-old woman at a nearby gas station at Rainier Avenue and South Othello , a short distance away from the initial reports. She was driven there by a witness. The woman was pregnant and shot in the stomach.
The young woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A K9 unit was brought in to track down any suspects, who police believe fled on foot. All that was found were spent shell casings. Seattle’s gang and homicide units have been called to investigate.
