Woman serving eviction notice shot in head in Renton

The suspect was identified as Joshua Gasperich.

Police responded Tuesday afternoon to a shooting in Renton, in the area of 2700 NE 9th Street.

A woman serving eviction papers was shot by the occupant she was trying to serve the papers on.

Renton fire officials said the woman was left critically injured, with one shot to the head. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center for her injuries.

Nearby Highlands Elementary School locked down as a safety precaution, police said, who noted there was no threat at the school.

KIRO 7 confirmed that the suspect returned to the scene in the Renton Highlands and was arrested.

Police released a photo of the suspect around 1:45 p.m.

The suspect was identified as Joshua Gasperich.

Gasperich is described by police as 6 feet tall and 190 pounds; he may be driving a ’98 blue Toyota pickup truck, with license number C75908G.​​
