All lanes of northbound I-5 were blocked in Seattle at the convention center Wednesday morning following a rollover collision.
The freeway’s main lanes reopened by 9:45 a.m. The ramp onto I-5 around University Street remained closed while an investigation into the incident continued.
A box truck collided with a car directly under the Washington State Convention Center shortly before 9 a.m. This portion of the convention center passes over the freeway.
The Seattle Fire Department reported that all passengers were able to get out of their vehicles after the incident. No injuries were reported.
While all northbound lanes were initially blocked, traffic was able to use the shoulder to get by the scene. A six mile backup formed behind the incident.
