A driver committed a smash-and-splash at a North Seattle LA Fitness Monday morning, after crashing through a glass entry and diving into an indoor pool.
What shouldn’t qualify as a second passenger in an HOV lane?
The Seattle Fire Department responded to the incident at 7:42 a.m. at the LA Fitness in the 13000 block of Aurora Avenue.
The sedan was able to smash through a narrow entry into the building — a space that contained a single glass door and a window. The car was almost entirely submerged in the water.
There were three people in the pool at the time of the crash. One person swam over to the car to get the driver out of the vehicle. No one was injured. The driver was unharmed and not taken to a hospital.
The cause of the incident is unknown.
According to KIRO 7 TV, the gym was evacuated after the crash. LA Fitness will be closed for the day.
