A threatening note outside a classroom at an Issaquah middle school has shut down the school for a second day.
The note was discovered outside of a classroom on Wednesday. Students were already on their way to school Wednesday morning when administrators made the decision to cancel classes. The district decided to extend the closure through Thursday.
The school district said the typed letter threatened violence against four Pacific Cascade Middle School staff members this Friday with reference to having access to a gun. It also included vague threats about violence at lunch or during the winter assembly on Friday.
District spokeswoman L. Michelle says police are trying to track down who’s behind the note.
“We certainly hope that any family members talking with their students, if they do have any information, we would certainly like to hear about it. You can call 911.”
The district says the status of school Friday will be based on the progress of the investigation. The district is considering make-up days for days missed.
