A car crashed into a Mountlake Terrace home Monday morning. (KIRO 7)

A car crash into a Mountlake Terrace home killed the driver and set the house on fire.

It happened around 8 a.m. Monday at 220th Street Southwest and 44th Avenue West.

A woman in the house was taken to the hospital as a precaution for possible smoke inhalation.

The fire has since been put out.

The car also struck a power pole. Video from the scene shows the top half of the pole hanging from power lines.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
