According to the SPD Blotter, Seattle Police officers responded to a reported bank robbery Wednesday in Ballard. The suspect was taken into custody after he tried to flee by taking a cab, and later a bus.

The 55-year-old man was spotted climbing into a taxi cab just one block north of the bank on 15th Avenue Northwest. One of the officers saw the cab as it was leaving the area, so he followed it and called for additional units.

The bank robber suspect got out of the cab, starting running, and managed to board a Metro bus while being pursued by officers. He was taken into custody shortly after on Dexter Avenue.
