Missing Maple Valley teen found alive after 8 days

After eight days of searching, the King County Sheriff’s Office says searchers found 18-year-old Gia Fuda alive off of Highway 2 between Skykomish and Steven’s Pass on Saturday.

Detectives had considered Fuda’s disappearance suspicious. Her purse was found in her car that ran out of gas. Her cell phone was gone, but not powered on.

Fuda was reportedly conscious and talking. She was taken to a local hospital.
