Donald Trump Jr: Mayors of Seattle, Portland allowed rioting

Donald Trump Jr. has often railed against the numerous shifting media narratives of the protests and riots in the past few months, hovering between what he sees as obfuscation and misdirected blame toward the president. He joined the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH to discuss the events in Seattle and Portland, and his new book, Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden and the Democrats’ Defense of the Indefensible.

“The hypocrisy of the media and the left is why I wrote a book. It’s that flagrant … You can’t tell the American people that there’s nothing going on as they watch their cities burn for three months and then be like, ‘just kidding, they weren’t peaceful protests, they were riots and they’re Trump’s fault,’” he said.

“These are Democrat-run states with Democrat governors, Democrat cities with Democrat mayors, Democrat city councils, Democrat everyone, and Democrat rule for, in some cases, 100 years. I don’t think anyone is buying that magically these cities, which have been a disaster for a long time to begin with, somehow it’s Donald Trump’s fault,” he added. “Ten days ago at that ‘I hate America’ Zoom call that was the DNC, not one person mentioned any of these things. Not one person touched the riots, the looting, the arson that’s been going on in our cities, the beating of people in the streets. They didn’t touch it because they’re at this point tacitly accepting of it.”

WA state auditor candidate seeks to repair rift between cops and community

Seattle and Portland have seen numerous instances of rioting the past few months, and as Jason suggested, the mayors have decried some of the violence but not directly called out any of the specific activist groups responsible. Why does Trump Jr. believe Seattle and Portland mayors have taken this approach?

“Because they’re pathetic, because they’re more on that side. That’s their voter. These are Joe Biden voters burning down the streets, these are Democrat voters burning down the streets. For the party of tolerance, they don’t seem to be tolerant. Try wearing a MAGA hat in Seattle or Portland right now. Now you can go to the most conservative part of America and wear a Joe Biden T-shirt, wave a Joe Biden flag, and no one would probably even say anything, let alone assault you,” he said.

“So I don’t know why the federal government should be bailing out cities that have just sat back, allowed violence to happen, allowed the radical left to take over entire city blocks of major cities. Imagine some sort of super conservative group, some alt right group … did that to a major city — they’d send in the Seal teams and take them all out.”
