The money given to Harborview by Proposition 1 would come in the form of general obligation bonds, and would help pay for new construction, as well as renovation for “increased critical care capacity.”

It would also provide “updated and expanded infection control capability,” as well as facilities to treat substance use disorders and mental health. Other parts of the bond would pay for seismic upgrades to the hospital.

The bond would be paid for by annual property tax levies within King County, running the median homeowner an estimated extra $75 a year.
