Starting Monday, there will be only one ferry vessel to sail the Seattle-Bremerton route due to emergency repairs needed on the MV Spokane.

Crews spotted a crack in the steel car deck of the Spokane. But once the repairs are complete, it will return to service, ferry officials said.

The Spokane was supposed to return to service on the Seattle-Bainbridge route over the weekend to relieve the Wenatchee, but it will be pulled from service so that mandatory maintenance can be completed on it.

So now, the Chimacum will be the only vessel on the Seattle-Bremerton route this week.

Ferry officials said the Kaleetan will move to Bainbridge so that “as many people as possible” can be carried throughout the system.
