Crews worked to put out a three-alarm fire at the site of the historic Seven Gable’s Theatre in Seattle’s University District early Thursday afternoon.

The fire happened on Roosevelt Way Northeast and Northeast 50th Street before noon.

When crews arrived at the scene, flames and smoke were visible.

Seattle Fire crews took a defensive position by pouring water onto the fire from the exterior, officials said.

At about 12:45 p.m., the fire was upgraded to a 3-alarm fire. Shortly after 2 p.m., the fire was reportedly brought under control.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
