Police: Man shot and killed at Everett restaurant

Police in Everett say they have arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing another man in a Denny’s parking lot Tuesday night.
Witnesses told police they thought the shooting had occurred at a nearby motel, Sunrise Motor Inn, which is behind the restaurant in the 8400 block of Evergreen Way.. They say they saw a car speed away from the scene.
Officers found that car at an apartment complex in South Everett and detained several people for questioning. All but one of those people were released. The 37-year-old suspect has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
According to police, the suspect may have been selling narcotics from a rented room at Sunrise Inn. He fled the shooting scene and stashed a gun in a dumpster in South Everett.
Police say the victim is believed to be a 39-year-old man from Seattle. It’s not known if he knew who shot him or why he was at the Denny’s.
