There could be plans to add to Facebook’s new digs, even before employees move into their new space.

A source told the Puget Sound Business Journal that Facebook will begin moving people to the Dexter building off Aurora Avenue by next weekend.

Meanwhile, real estate company Capstone Partners filed plans for a building adjacent to the current building between Dexter Avenue and Aurora Avenue (1101 DEXTER AVE N). The new building could add up to 165,000 square feet. However, the Business Journal learned that the project isn’t reliant on a lease with Facebook.

The new building, according to plans filed with the city, would be 10 floors. It would include an additional 3,000 square feet for retail.

“For zoning purposes, the building will be evaluated both as a stand alone building (though physically connected to the adjacent building), as well as one combined building with the existing Dexter Station,” the plans read.

Facebook has leased the bulk of the current 353,000-square-foot building. The building has room for up to approximately 2,000 people.
