The region hit 84 degrees on Friday, May 13, which matches the record set in 1973.

The National Weather Service reports that with Friday’s high temperature, Seattle will have more days in the 80-degree range than 90 percent of springs since 1894. It also sets the record for the number of days that hit 80 degrees between Jan. 1 and May 31 for the region with a total of eight. The previous record of seven 80-degree days has been held since 1958.
