Two athletes with Washington state ties are now Olympic medalists.

Gov. Inslee tweeted a congratulations to Jordan Chiles, a gymnast from Vancouver, Washington, after Chiles helped Team USA win silver in the women’s team all-around finals this week in Tokyo.

Inslee said he’s “proud to have [Chiles] representing Washington state.”

While not born in Washington state, local sports fans know former University of Washington basketball star Kelsey Plum. She helped the U.S. win gold this week in the women’s 3×3 basketball tournament at the Tokyo Olympics. This year marked the first time 3×3 basketball was played at the Olympic Games.

Seattle Storm’s Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, and Jewell Loyd are all on Team USA as well, as are OL Reign’s Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle, and Eric Filia from the Seattle Mariners.
