The Puget Sound region is due for a bout of unstable weather conditions and wet weather in the week ahead.

KIRO 7 meteorologists say Sunday was the transition day with low pressure moving in over the region, starting with rain and breezy conditions on the coast. As the system moves inland Monday, cool air settles in, leading to instability. Highs might reach the 60s and some areas will see isolated thunderstorms.

Tuesday will look similar, according to KIRO 7, with a short respite on Wednesday. Conditions may dry out by next weekend.

The National Weather Service in Seattle expects the weather to remain “unsettled” through the start of the week. As of Monday morning, NWS says winds have eased a bit but it’ll still be breezy in Western Washington. Some of the windiest locations Sunday were near the coast and along the inland waters.
