One person jumps, others rescued from burning Rainier Beach apartments

One person jumped and several others were rescued from a burning apartment building in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood.
Firefighters were called to the building on South Henderson Street between 48th Avenue South and 50th Avenue South at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Seattle Fire Department firefighters said the fire started on the second floor and quickly spread to the third floor.
A fire department spokesperson said one person jumped from the second floor to escape the flames. They were taken to a hospital, where they are stable.
Several other people were brought down to safety by ladders.
A Metro bus was brought in so that the displaced residents could keep warm.
The fire was brought under control by around 5 a.m.
