Rantz: Rep. Strickland makes evil claim about Justice Thomas on interracial marriage

Obviously, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland isn’t very smart. But after hearing comments she made about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, it’s worth questioning whether or not her motives are evil.

In an interview with Brandi Kruse’s “[un]divided”, the congresswoman claimed that Justice Thomas would overturn interracial marriage. Thomas is married to a white woman. But that didn’t matter.

Giggling like a child, Strickland claimed Thomas might find a way to ban all future interracial marriages because he “often votes and rules on things that are against his own interests.” Somehow saving the lives of innocent black babies is offensive to Strickland.

Her comments are utterly vile and evil — and unbecoming of a member of Congress, and that’s saying something.

The intersection of dumb and bad faith

Strickland’s comments come in the aftermath of what looks like the inevitable reversal of Roe v. Wade via Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. A combination of truly stupid people and bad faith politicians used the Supreme Court leak to argue slippery slopes.

President Joe Biden claimed that soon the Supreme Court will allow for segregation in schools. Not the kind of racial segregation favored by Democrats who hold racially segregated meetings, like in Seattle and Issaquah, though.

“What happens if you have states changing the law, saying that children who are LGBTQ can’t be in classrooms with other children?” Biden asked. “Is that legit, under the way that the decision’s written?”

No, it’s not legit. The decision, as leaked, doesn’t impact anything beyond abortion, no matter the lazy arguments the conservative justices knew the Left would desperately make.

Strickland knows very little about anything

Strickland is now pushing the claim that Dobbs foreshadows a similar reversal in Love v. Virginia, which found laws banning interracial marriage to be unconstitutional.

Much smarter dumb people have made similar claims, but none of these people are serious. And it’s not based on a good faith reading of Dobbs. Indeed, the people making this argument likely haven’t read the draft at all.

Justice Samuel Alito, writing for the majority, bases his position on the fundamental difference between Roe and other 14th Amendment cases because “[a]bortion destroys . . . potential life.” Interracial marriage doesn’t destroy a life.

Strickland, to be sure, won’t read the opinion until it comes out as a picture book. She’s likely waiting for it to become a television miniseries on CBS. But what’s in the opinion doesn’t matter. She is singularly moved by how she can exploit the fear she’s trying to create out of Dobbs.

Strickland helps push for ‘Summer of rage’

Democrats either supported the “Summer of love” in 2020, or pretended it didn’t exist. They didn’t seem to care much about the loss of life and property damage, so they didn’t make it a talking point. The “mostly peaceful” riots served a political agenda for the Democrat party.

Democrats are again leaning into fear-mongering in ways that further divide and will likely lead to violence.

“For the women of this country, this will be a summer of rage. We will be ungovernable until this government starts working for us, until the attacks on our bodies let up, until the right to an abortion is codified into law,” Women’s March President Rachel Carmona promised.

Strickland is only adding gas to the flames. It’s intentional and coordinated. It’s why her colleagues, like Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Seattle), are flat out lying. So is this an example of Strickland’s lack of intellect or is she acting with nefarious intent?

Democrats win arguments when they silence opposition or push outlandish, hyperbolic claims. They convinced the naïve that literal Nazis were marching on streets across the country and that police were roaming neighborhoods for black bodies to kill.

Now, they’ll try to convince people that women lose all rights. They’re again pulling out the tired Handmaid’s Tale cosplaying. It may have worked in 2020 but will it work two years later? Polling, so far, indicates it’s not going to work and Democrats are headed for a political massacre. And if Democrats get even more desperate to hang on to power, it’s anyone’s guess how destructive they’ll become.
