Former Borracchini’s Bakery building catches fire in Rainier Valley

Seattle Firefighters are fighting a 2-alarm fire Friday at the former Borrachini’s Bakery near Rainier Ave S and S Walker St.
Firefighters say the building is vacant and they are working to pour water on the fire from outside the building.
A second alarm was called for additional resources and roads in the area were shut down.
Remo Borracchini’s Bakery and Mediterranean Market closed in March 2021 after 100 years.

Thick smoke continues to billow from the building onto Rainier Ave S and S Walker St. Seattle Fire Department advises you to close your windows and doors if you work or live nearby. The smoke is currently visible from the I-5 freeway on the east side.
