Gravity Payments CEO Dan Price resigns as he faces assault, reckless driving charges

Dan Price, a high-profile CEO of Seattle-based Gravity Payments, announced he’s resigning as he faces misdemeanor assault and reckless driving charges.
A longtime Gravity executive, Tammi Kroll, will take over for Price.

Dan Price said his presence at Gravity Payments has become, in his words, “a distraction.”
Price pleaded not guilty earlier this year, after prosecutors said he grabbed a woman by her throat when she refused to kiss him. He’s accused of then driving donuts with her in a parking lot.

In a statement, Price said he needs to step aside from the company to focus on, what he claims, are “false accusations.”
Price made national headlines in 2015 when he slashed his CEO salary to give his employees a raise.
