According to Washington State Patrol trooper Rick Johnson, the crash happened when a car came off the overpass and struck two other vehicles. Police have reason to believe that the driver was impaired at the time of the accident.
One passenger in one of the vehicles hit is in critical condition and the suspect that caused the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no timeline for when northbound I-5 will be reopened.
