Firefighters were called to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. on Military Road South near Auburn.

Once they got the flames under control, they discovered a person dead inside the structure.

Arson investigators and major crimes detectives are combing through evidence, but King County sheriff’s sergeant Corbett Ford said they are not yet labeling the incident “suspicious.”

“We know that we have a death and fire, so we don’t know the cause of the fire or the cause of the death,” Ford said.

No details yet on the identity of the victim.

Investigators are expected to be on scene for several hours.
