Puyallup Schools closed, others delayed as snow melt makes roads dangerous

The Puyallup School district says it’s canceling classes for all schools Monday because the roads are expected to be dangerous during the morning commute.

All childcare and after-school activities are also canceled.

Plenty of other school districts are starting classes two hours late this morning, including schools in King, Kitsap, and Lewis counties.

  • Bethel SD- 2 Hours Late, AM/PM Buses on snow routes Right At School and the Bethel Acceleration Academy will also be running two hours late. There will be no half-day preschool, no late start or early release programs, no out-of-district transportation, no Challenge program, and no transportation for Challenger Middle or Challenger High School. Morning classes at the Pierce County Skills Center are also canceled.
  • Carbonado SD- 2 Hours Late. Choice Route Limited Transportation, No EK
  • Dieringer SD- 2 Hours Late, No AM preschool, No out-of-district transportation
  • Eatonville SD- 2 Hours Late, No preschool, No out-of-district transportation
  • Fife SD- 2 Hours Late, No out-of-district transportation. Normal bus routes. Afternoon activities continue as normal. Note that this is a two hours late start for a normal days schedule or a one hour late start for a late start Mondays schedule.
  • Franklin Pierce SD- 2 Hours Late, No preschool, No out-of-district transportation.
  • Orting SD- 2 Hours Late, No AM preschool, AM buses on snow routes
  • Peninsula SD- 2 Hours Late. Buses are operating on emergency snow routes. There will be no out-of-district or West Sound Tech transportation. Half-Day preschool is canceled.
  • Puyallup SD- Closed. All after-school and evening activities are canceled unless otherwise noted. Visit online for more info.
  • Tacoma SD
    2 Hours Late. Normal bus routes. No out-of-district transportation. Afternoon activities continue as normal. www.tacomaschools.org
  • White River SD- 2 Hours Late. There is no teacher collaboration time. School will begin 2 hours late as counted from the regular Tuesday through Friday scheduled start time. There will be no AM sessions for Preschool, ECEAP, or Early Kindergarten. Full-day kindergarten is in session as are all PM half-day sessions. The start time for Kids Club will also be 2 hours late. We will be following the limited transportation schedule as listed on the WRSD website. If students are picked up at a different stop for limited transportation, they will also be dropped off at the same stop. No out-of-district transportation.
  • Riverview SD- Two-Hour Late Start. No Preschool, no AM Extended Day, no Out-of-District Transportation. Limited Bus Transportation (Snow) Routes in place.
  • Auburn SD- 2 Hours Late, AM Buses on snow routes, no out-of-district transportation. On-site daycare will run two hours late No AM or PM ECE No AM or PM ECEAP Full-day ECEAP is 2 hours late No extended day ECE No 5th grade band or orchestra No AM or PM Community Lab Breakfast will not be served Staff-All PLC activities are canceled
  • Issaquah SD- School is Regular time, no programs canceled, buses on AM/PM snow routes
  • Lake Washington SD- AM/PM Buses on snow routes. School and programs will start on time.
  • Federal Way PSMuckleshoot Tribal School- 2 Hours Late. All Muckleshoot Department of Education programs will open 2 hours late.
  • Northshore SD- AM/PM Buses on snow routes More Info
  • Shoreline SD- AM/PM Buses on snow routes. Opening on time. More Info
