How do you get the conservative message to millennials?

Oct 12, 2016, 7:33 PM

I continue to imagine ways to get the conservative message to young people — because what is not working is repeating the word “constitution.” A lot of millennials never learned about the constitution in the first place and don’t care about it.

They make think that is was all written to keep people slaves and that it involved dead, white men.

The Ferguson Effect and its cost

But here’s how I would present things to young people — this is the speech I would give to millennials:

“The average age of the employees at Uber is 26, not much older than many of you. And that app was created in a bar, with a couple of people thinking how great it would be to have a town car come pick them up.

The people behind Uber were the same as the founders of our country , free marketeers.

In the old days there used to be just a cab company to call. They were monopolistic, top down, a sort of a big government approach. And now the future of Uber is at risk because there are people in government who want to slow it down and put shackles on the company.

The Democrat Party is trying to shut Uber down. In Seattle, there was even an attempt to force Uber to give yellow cab their app technology. Why? Because Uber didn’t work within the government system and didn’t pay off people. And the same thing is happening with Airbnb.

What type of world do you want to live in?

We as conservatives are free marketeers and represent the world of Uber, because it was created with the same spirit as our founders who started this country. We want a small, efficient government. And we want efficient companies that work well and are innovative.”
