There are going to be battles no matter who is going to be president. My focus is local. Mainly, whether Sound Transit 3, Proposition 1 passes or not.

That is an illegal body. They break election laws whenever they choose to. Bob Ferguson, the Attorney General, said ‘Yeah, they broke election laws but come on, it was a mistake, plus they are good buddies of mine.’ So I’m not done with Sound Transit and I’m working with people to sue Sound Transit. I want their taxing authority taken away. They are an unelected body, they should have no ability to tax our homes. They have jerry-rigged the Regional Transit District and that’s why some of you, in Snohomish, don’t have it on your ballot because you live in conservative areas. Dow Constantine and Peter Rogoff don’t want you voting on that.

That could be an issue that gets us fighting. Some things could get us uniting as Americans — and forget Republicans and Democrats — because my bigger focus is bringing back the vote of the people. Bernie Sanders supporters, look what they did to your guy in this state. The parties are way too strong, they have way too much influence.

Of thee I sing: A guide to US patriotic songs, from ‘The Liberty Song’ to Jay-Z and Kanye West

NEW YORK (AP) — The history of American patriotic songs offers a lesson about the different ways you can say you love your country. A half dozen state leaders […]

Europe’s wildfire crisis fractures as Greece evacuates and France guards megafire scar

LACANAU, France (AP) — Europe’s wildfire crisis fractured along starkly different fronts Sunday: gale-force winds drove flames deeper into the Athens region and forced fresh evacuations, France guarded a still-burning scar four times the size of Paris against renewed spread, and Spain’s major fires finally stopped advancing. The center of immediate danger was Greece. Gale-force […]

Republicans want voters to elect Kansas Supreme Court justices and move court to the right

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas voters will decide Tuesday whether to elect state Supreme Court justices rather than have the governor appoint them, a push from conservatives who have chafed for years over court decisions they disagreed with on issues such as abortion, school funding and the death penalty. If the constitutional amendment passes, supporters […]
