Washington State Sen. Doug Ericksen says he is looking forward to promises President-elect Donald Trump made during his campaign coming to fruition.

With a Republican-controlled Senate and House effectively giving the U.S. a one-party rule, there is little in the way of Trump making good on his goals.

“Having a Republican Senate and Republican House is going to make it very good,” Ericksen told Seattle’s Morning News. “Repealing Obamacare, that’s gonna happen first thing. He’s going to go through and void all of President Obama’s illegal executive orders – that will happen day one. All of that will happen and I’m looking forward to it.”

Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, was a legacy President Barack Obama hoped to leave behind him. The ACA made it possible for 22 million Americans to get healthcare that was previously out of reach either because of affordability or pre-existing conditions.

Speaking of promises, Trump has also said he will get a special investigator to look into his former opponent Hillary Clinton’s email controversy — even going as far as to say she would be in jail if he became president.

“We’ll see what happens with that,” Ericksen said. “We’ll see what Mrs. Clinton decides to do moving forward and we’ll see if Congress will take up that issue. Or if she’ll just move quietly into the background.”

“As more evidence comes out, we’ll see what that evidence is as more things come forward as the FBI continues to work on it,” he continued. “But for me personally, that’s not my priority going forward. My priority is to create jobs and bring the country together and as Mr. Trump says, ‘Make America great again.’”

While Ericksen previously said of Trump that no candidate is perfect as he campaigned, he believes Trump is the candidate that can make Republican goals a reality. And he did it by going big. Though Ericksen believes that Trump won’t be able to do everything he promised.

“Mr. Trump expanded the Republican Party,” Ericksen said. “You have new people coming to the party and it makes a difference. We’ll have issues going forward. We’ll work our way through it. It will be the Republican Party again focused on working people and American values.”

“He’s the President of the United States,” he said. “He’s not a dictator. He’s not a king. He will work with Congress. Everybody talks about things in the election that they would like to get done, we can’t do everything people talk about in the election. But he will be focused and I think he has a better chance of delivering than anybody else.”
