Many Republicans across the country have stopped having traditional town hall meetings to avoid facing angry Democratic voters.

Last week, hundreds of people held a demonstration outside U.S. Representative Dave Reichert’s office in Issaquah as a result of his refusal to hold a town hall.

Instead, Reichert took questions on Facebook Live. You can watch the video here.

During his Facebook Live event, he said town hall meetings are “not productive.”

“It’s just a moment that people … some people want to use to voice their opinions sometimes in a very loud, very rude and obscene way,” he said.

Now, someone has highlighted Reichert’s absence via a missing persons ad on Craiglist.

The missing ad reads:

Dave was last seen in Washington voting against requiring President Trump to release his tax returns so that an adequate assessment of conflicts of interest could be made in the interest of protecting the United States against threats foreign and domestic. He was briefly seen voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act removing healthcare for many of his constituents.

Dave was supposed to be back in District 8 to meet with his constituents, the people he works for, but has not been seen since leaving Washington DC.

If you see Dave please approach him calmly, he may be suffering from paranoia induced dementia as he has apparently forgotten who he works for and what his job is.

The pressure for Republicans to hold town halls comes during a time when voters are demanding answers on topics such as President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown and Cabinet picks.

When it comes to Reichert, voters want answers as to why he voted against requesting President Trump’s tax returns and also voted to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics. After the Facebook Live interview last week, they might also be wondering why — as The Seattle Times points out — he didn’t offer his opinion on the efforts to defund Planned Parenthood and the White House’s orders to remove federal protections for transgender students.
