Seattle police are investigating a shooting at Alki Beach where a 23-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening.

The shooting happened near 62nd Avenue Southwest and Alki Avenue Southwest at about 9 p.m.

Police said there was a disturbance during a party of 30 to 40 people on the beach and a man was shot.

“Detectives believe that the victim was targeted and that this was not a random act,” police wrote on the blotter.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

King County Sheriff’s Office’s Air support helped Seattle police search for the suspect’s vehicle, which they described as a gray Grand Marquis.

Seattle police said they have not identified a suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
