3 really embarrassing NAACP Facebook posts featuring Rachel Dolezal

I am fascinated by the story of Rachel Dolezal, the white NAACP Spokane leader who presented as black. I’m fascinated not just because I can’t quite figure out why she did what she did (Did she actually convince herself she’s black? Did she appropriate black culture to boost her career?), but because the NAACP is sticking by her.
In a statement of support, the NAAC said, “One’s racial identity is not a qualifying criteria or disqualifying standard for NAACP leadership.” But that’s not relevant. This isn’t a conversation about her work; it’s a conversation about her lie.
I suspect the NAACP support is more about wanting to save face, because lots of people are currently wondering how people could be fooled into thinking a white woman is black. And given the following, embarrassing posts on the NAACP Spokane Facebook page, I understand wanting to save face.

It’s apparently not offensive to pretend you contributed or are a part of the black community’s legacy and achievements.
