One word best applies to the enablers of the arrogant Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in Seattle: cowards.

You have cowards in the alternative media and in Olympia who are doing their best to excuse away the disgusting, selfish, and classless actions of the out-of-control Black Lives Matter “leaders” who decided to hold a weekend Bernie Sanders speech hostage. And they do this out of both their own ignorance, self-loathing and fear of being labeled racist by a group of people who think everything is racist.

After storming the stage to demand to speak, call the audience white supremacists and then force 4.5 minutes of silence for Michael Brown, a thief killed after trying to steal an officer’s gun, Bernie Sanders was forced to leave, unable to speak, at an event held hostage by Mara Willaford and Marissa Johnson.

The audience was understandably not happy. But they’re the ones being criticized because they were “mostly white” and you’re not allowed to criticize black people when you’re white. If you do, you’re racist.

In the words of one out-of-town activist (who isn’t black), “When your ass isn’t on the line, your opinion doesn’t matter. If you are a white ally, show it and check your privilege.” (As it turns out, the two black leaders avoided any actual consequences for their disruption of a political event, which happens to be their privilege in action).

In one of the most out-of-touch blog posts I think I’ve ever read, State Senator Pramila Jayapal (herself an activist that supports the Black Lives Matter movement) said, “[W]hen the disruption first happened, the crowd (mostly white) turned ugly” but doesn’t quite recount how the audience turned ugly beyond being upset with the disruption. (Remember, though, you can’t get mad at anything a black person does – unless that black person is a Republican, of course).

But she does want to stake out a cowardly position (she is, after all, a politician) by saying she does “not have any answer on what is ‘right'” and that the weekend’s disruption “…is one small result of centuries of racism.” In other words, they have an excuse to behave the way they did. She then goes on to call for reparations and reprint talking points pulled from most remedial Social Justice 101 liberal arts classes.

What the Black Lives Matter activists did was wrong, plain and simple, and we’re not racists for pointing it out. Your skin color doesn’t mean you’re above reproach or criticism, no matter how much you want to try to silence people, many of which, at least on Saturday, were already on your misguided side. Your skin color doesn’t give you a pass to behave like clowns. Your skin color is no more an excuse for your outrageous actions than it is for a racist’s bigoted actions.

But all of this is an extension of a strategy to silence the opposition.

Disagree with their content or tactics? You’re racist, you’re bad for the community, you’re contributing to the murder of black people (one activist actually said that about me) and you will be dismissed. They want you excommunicated, shut up, or fired. They try to silence their critics and bully themselves into positions of authority. They can’t actually win debates because facts aren’t on their side, so they set up phony narratives to put themselves in positions of victimhood.

In the Bernie Sanders case, look at how it’s being framed. One activist tweeted to me, “These women pointed out Seattle’s closeted racism and out of the closet they come.” Another tweeted, “black lives are being torn away & you’re shaming ppl for making you uncomfortable? look up what silencing means.” The two disruptors are actual victims! You’re the bad guy for being mad!

Though, remember, if someone like Ben Carson were to disrupt a Black Lives Matter rally, he’d likely face violence.

Sadly, these activist have been mostly successful. Go to a college campus, and you’ll see legions of wimps who don’t even allow comedians on campuses if a joke might loosely offend someone.

The question is, what are you willing to do to ensure they don’t keep getting away with this kind of nonsense. Well? What are you going to do?
