Dori: Seattleites mad at Trump’s lies, but not Move Seattle lies?

Three years ago, the people of Seattle approved the Move Seattle levy. The $930 million levy was supposed to transform Seattle transportation, improving safety, infrastructure, and public transit, over 10 years.

There’s only one problem — their revenues are far short of what they promised, and their ability to complete projects is far short of what they promised. Oh, they’re still collecting $930 million from the taxpayers of this city, but they haven’t gotten the state and federal money they promised they would get. See, they had to exaggerate the benefits of Move Seattle in order to get people to vote for it. It’s the game that local government plays all of the time.

I continue to be baffled that Ed Murray is not in prison — believe it or not, not just because he’s an alleged child rapist, but also because he was part of this Move Seattle conspiracy to rip off taxpayers for nearly a billion dollars.

RELATED: Politicians played Seattle voters for chumps with Move Seattle levy

Here’s what I truly don’t understand about voters in Seattle. They seem to hate Donald Trump en masse because they say he’s a liar. Trump’s lies haven’t negatively affected any individuals in Seattle. But the lies of Ed Murray and Scott Kubly and the entire Seattle City Council have personally affected all of you. Even if you don’t live in Seattle, if you live around the region and get stuck in Seattle’s gridlock, the politicians are robbing you of your valuable time with their failure to fix our congestion.

Now Jenny Durkan’s administration says it is doing a “reset” on Move Seattle. Boy, am I tired of that word. That’s what Sound Transit did. They were a decade behind schedule and billions over-budget, and they said they would just do a reset. And then they had the audacity to throw a million-dollar party when the Husky Stadium station opened, and tell everyone they were on-time and on-budget because they did a magical reset.

That’s what they’re doing now with Move Seattle. They rip people off for a billion dollars, and then do a reset to justify going overtime and over-budget. Scott Kubly should be in prison. I’m telling you right now. You have local politicians who make Donald Trump look like Billy Graham on the truthfulness scale. They are much sleazier liars, and their lies cost you directly. But for some bizarre reason the people of this region are tolerant of the blatant, egregious lies and incompetency, as long as it’s the Democrats doing the lying.

For those of you who accuse the president of being a liar, why do you accept the lies of Seattle politicians that are 10 times greater and will cost you infinitely more financially?
