The two-day concert series was Pearl Jam’s first Seattle show after a five-year absence. The event was aimed at raising money for the region’s homelessness crisis. YouthCare’s Orion Center is the first organization to benefit from the raised funds. YouthCare offers programs for homeless youth, including programs to meet unique needs of the LGBTQ community. It’s Orion Center offers drop-in services and meals for ages 22 and younger.

“We want every young person who is experiencing homelessness, every person experiencing homelessness, to have the opportunity to have a home,” Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard told KIRO 7.

Another $1.2 million is slated for Seattle and King County’s All Home, which has a goal to end youth homelessness by 2020.

Other funds will contribute to A Way Home Washington, which works to end youth homelessness in Pierce County, Spokane, Yakima, and Walla Walla by 2022.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
