A 50-year-old sex offender from North Bend has been arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail following an investigation into an assault on a child at an Edmond’s grocery store.

Edmonds police report that the suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his North Bend home. He is a level one sex offender and has been booked for first degree child molestation.
“This case is not over yet, there is still much left to do,” said Edmonds Detective Stacie Trykar. “Thank you to all who have helped.”
Images from security video were previously released to the media after a man grabbed a child at the Ranch 99 grocery store in Edmonds on Sept. 15 at around 4 p.m. It is that incident which police arrested the man for.
But it wasn’t the only alarming incident in the area that day. About an hour after the assault at Ranch 99, another assault on a child was reported at the H Mart in Lynnwood a short distance away. The father from the second incident submitted an anonymous tip to Edmonds police, which led them to additional security footage. But that family has not come forward with any further details.
According to the Edmonds Police Department:
While video from a business in Lynnwood was used to aid the investigation, detectives are continuing to investigate if there are more victims. We are encouraging anyone who may have been victimized by this suspect or anyone who has more information to contact their local police right away. Let the police know you believe that this is related to the Edmonds PD investigation. Authorities will work together and share the information provided. Video and images of the suspect are available on our department Facebook and Twitter accounts.
