You may recall, about 10 days ago, Seattle Times columnist Nicole Brodeur, who was traveling in Paris for the past month, happened to run into former Mayor Ed Murray and his husband while in line for the Eiffel Tower.

She sent a photo to her Seattle Times colleague Jim Brunner, who posted it on Twitter, and we all picked up on it.

Ed Murray had told everyone when he was being accused of raping all those boys, that he didn’t have a penny to his name for lawyers to go after. Then, of course, we found out that Murray would be collecting a $115,000-a-year pension, courtesy of the taxpayers, for the rest of his life, after resigning in disgrace.

Then last week, the city had to pay Jeff Simpson, one of the men accusing Murray of child rape, a $75,000 settlement.

So while you, I, the taxpayers, were paying off one of the men Ed Murray allegedly raped, Murray and his husband were gallivanting around Paris. And Nicole Brodeur simply pointed this out.

This week on Facebook, in a status and in a comment, Brodeur wrote:

Ed Murray chewed me out on the street last night … He told me I ruined his trip, [I] said I was just a reporter doing what I needed to do. He was just awful. I told him that if one photo and a Tweet ‘ruined’ a week in Paris, he wasn’t doing life very well. And then I told him to go get a drink.

Good for Nicole Brodeur, and what a classless move from Ed Murray. After claiming that he’s broke and that his life is ruined because of all the men saying he raped them, he blames Nicole Brodeur. He accuses her of ruining his trip just for taking a picture of him in a public place in Paris. How consistent is that with the man we all got to know when he was in the mayor’s office? Just a petty, miserable move from a man who seems to blame everybody and everything else for his transgressions.
