In June 2018, a man was murdered on a Saturday night near Alki Beach. Since then, homicide detectives have been hard at work searching for the perpetrator, and are now asking for your help solving the case once and for all.

On the night of June 2, 2018, Jonathan Pecina got into a verbal altercation with another man on the inland side of the street, and was subsequently stabbed in the neck. Emergency responders found Pecina lying on the ground, and were unable to save him.

Now over a year later, physical evidence analyzed by a forensic criminalist has produced DNA of the suspect, and police are asking him to turn himself in. Watch the video here(Warning: Video contains graphic content)

“This case will never go away — we have your DNA,” Assistant Chief of Criminal Investigations Deanna Nollette said in a video, in hopes that the suspect would be watching. “It is in your best interest to contact us immediately.”

SPD is also asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the perpetrator to contact them. They have not provided a suspect description.
