Wounded mom, dead father and infant found by real estate agent

A real estate agent stopped by a Whatcom County home Sunday to find a man and infant shot to death, along with a wounded woman inside.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the incident in the 5000 block of Noon Road as a homicide.
Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo told reporters that the deaths appear to be the result of domestic violence.

The woman was identified as 43-year-old Erin Agren. She was shot in the chest, though her injuries are reportedly non-life threatening. She was taken to a local hospital.

Agren was found in the home with the 59-year-old Michael D. Jordan and a 17-month-old baby, both dead.

Agren reportedly told officers that she shot Jordan, according to KING 5. Both the man and child had been dead for days before being discovered.

Jordan was a teacher at the Lummu Nation School. Agren was also previously a teacher at the same school, but no longer teaches there.

“Unfortunately, we were notified this weekend that one of our teachers passed away along with his son, a tragic event and our prayers are with his family,” said Lummi Nation Chairman Tim Ballew.

“Our condolences go out to Michael, his son and his family and we are here for the community as we struggle through this event,” he said.

Ballew said that Jordan was not a tribal member, but a valued teacher within the community.

“He had a connection with the students, faculty and staff and was a good community member of the Lummi Nation schools,” Ballew said.

The Lummi Nation School posted to its Facebook page following the news: “Lummi Nation School is deeply sadden by the loss of an incredibly dedicated and beloved teacher.”
