Boeing employees dealt drugs using company’s instant messaging service

Police records indicate that Boeing employees used the company’s own instant messaging program to organize drug deals for controlled substances such as morphine and Adderall.

Five employees were fired after an investigation, The Everett Herald reports.

Boeing reported the discovery of instant-messaging drug deals at its Paine Field plant to Everett police in 2014. The investigation revealed that drugs such as oxycodone, morphine, Adderall and amphetamines were sold through the messaging service. Adderall is a medication prescribed for attention deficit disorder. Oxycodone and morphine are opiates and addictive.

No charges have been filed against employees as there was not enough evidence to justify arrests, the police department told the Herald. But it was discovered that drug deals were made in the parking lot, bathrooms, a locker room, and a place called “the jig.”
