North Thurston High School shooter pleads not guilty

The 16-year-old North Thurston High School shooter charged for shooting a gun multiple times at school pleaded not guilty.
The suspect was in Thurston County Juvenile Court Monday morning, the Tacoma New Tribune reports.
The teen will be back in court May 26. It will then be decided if he will be charged as an adult. An evaluation of the 16-year-old has determined he will not be held in a mental health facility.

No one was injured during the April 27 incident when the student fired a Magnum .357 into the air in an apparent attempt to commit suicide by cop. He now faces multiple charges: possession of a firearm on school grounds; theft of a firearm; unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree; discharging a firearm or dangerous weapon; and harassment.
The alleged shooter’s was recently enrolled at the high school. He has a criminal history that includes three fourth-degree assault convictions in 2014.
