One person was killed and eight others were injured after a rollover bus accident that ejected people from the vehicle.

The crash happened a few minutes after 1 p.m. at South 176th Street and International Boulevard in SeaTac, near the Sea-Tac Airport parking garage.

Investigators say the driver of a BMW — a 40-year-old woman from Auburn — crossed the centerline of the road and collided with the bus near the airport. The driver of the car and seven bus passengers were among those injured. A additional passenger on the bus was the lone fatality, a 45-year-old man from Peekskill, New York.

Two people were transported in critical condition to Harborview Medical Center. Two others were also sent to Harborview, but their condition was not life-threatening. Another two were taken to Highline Medical Center, two were taken to Valley Medical Center, and one person was treated at the scene.

Injured passengers were a mix of Washington locals, two others from California, and one from each of Nevada and Utah. The youngest of them was the driver at 39 years old, with the rest ranging between 40 and 65.

The bus belongs to the Marriott, and shuttles customers to and from the airport.

Sound Transit announced that Express Routes 560 and 574 would not be serving the SeaTac light rail station until further notice, while police activity remained in the area.
