U.S. soccer star Hope Solo says she’s seeing a therapist for “all the pain and anger that was inside” of her.
Solo opened up on her new blog about how she spent her time during a 30-day suspension. She sent an email to her teammates to let them know what she was doing.
Twice a week, I also worked with an Eastern medicine healer in Seattle who had incredible experience helping some of the greatest athletes perform at the highest levels. He really helped me see things in a different light. I wanted them to know that I hadn’t just taken 30 days off.
Hope’s suspension followed the arrest of her husband, former University of Washington football player Jerramy Stevens, for allegedly driving a team van while drunk.
Solo said her teammates have been supportive and she’s now focused on the World Cup.
