Snowflakes spotted in Pierce County

The weather didn’t completely disappoint in Western Washington on Tuesday morning.

Snowflakes were spotted at approximately 700 feet elevation in Pierce County, the National Weather Service reports.

There’s a was a chance for a mix of rain and snow at 500 feet elevation through 11 a.m.

The Summit at Snoqualmie reported it was snowing at 9 a.m. It was snowing “lightly” at noon.

Snow was expected Monday night through Tuesday morning at elevations higher than 1,000 feet.

Windy conditions are expected Tuesday in the Puget Sound area, the National Weather Service reports. Below freezing temperatures are expected Tuesday night through Thursday night. Temperatures will dip to the upper 20s. Daytime highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s.
