More than a foot of new snow blankets Washington mountains

A storm system rolled through Washington this weekend, which meant happy skiers and snowboarders around the state, with potentially violent storms still to come on the coast.
The major mountains saw plenty of new powder from Saturday through Sunday, with the low reported snowfalls being around 8 inches, while 17 inches landed on Crystal Mountain during that time. A total of 33 inches fell on Mt. Baker over the last 48 hours, with more expected overnight.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind Watch from Tuesday morning through the afternoon, with southerly winds expected to increase to between 25-40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. The strongest areas of wind were expected to be on the Washington coast.
Snow accumulations over 48 hours (and over the weekend):
• 49 Degrees North: 10 inches (11 inches)
• Crystal Mountain: 17 inches (19 inches)
• Mission Ridge: 8 inches (13 inches)
• Methow Trails: 8-10 inches (24 inches)
• Mt. Baker: 16 inches (33 inches)
• Stevens Pass: 10 inches (12 inches)
• White Pass: 7 inches (10 inches)
