FBI’s advice is reason to fear a Seattle terrorist attack

Not to be a downer or total fearmonger, but I’m hoping the local terrorist threat relies more heavily on every aspect other than the one piece of advice given to us by FBI special agent Frank Montoya Jr.

During a news conference on Friday afternoon, where Agent Montoya expressed terrorists’ threats facing the region are real, he urged us to take preventive measures by reporting suspicions to local authorities.

“We find that with acts of terrorism, and definitely with active shooters, people are coming forward with excellent information after the fact, which is anything but preventive,” he explained.

In other words, if you see something, say something.

I hope that’s not what the FBI truly thinks will help, because due to the politically correct society Progressives have helped create, if you report any suspicions against someone that isn’t a heterosexual white Christian male, you will be labeled homophobic, Islamaphobic, racist, sexist and any other nasty label activists use against perceived microaggressions.

Related: Microaggressions are an excuse to be offended, feel victimized

Progressive activists have made it so that the second you accuse someone of acting suspiciously, you are automatically assumed to be suffering from some kind of -ism. That the only reason you’re reporting the person (who isn’t white), is some deep-seated bigotry (a bigotry you might not even know about!).

In San Bernadino, for example, neighbors of terrorist Syed Farook didn’t report him for fear of being accused of “profiling” him. Indeed, this past weekend, I received the following tweet from a listener telling me it would have been bigoted to report Farook, even though we now know the suspicion to be valid:

Society was right to push the notion that, just because you look Muslim, you shouldn’t be deemed suspicious (the same way that just because you’re wearing a hoodie, doesn’t mean you’re a gangbanger). Lingering bigotry is why society sought to clarify the stance. I’m glad they did.

But the movement has gone too far, which is par for the course when it gets co-opted by ideologues who need to justify spending their college careers on their social justice degrees. They push contrivances like “microaggressions” and create an unjust world in their minds, just so they have something to fight against. And, mostly white activists, will call out everyone else’s bigotry so that they can say they’re helping end bigotry (via their, ironically, racist white saviordom complexes).

As a result, they’ll attack anyone who takes the advice the FBI gives, which is to simply report suspicious activities and characters. And if you’re wrong (or even if you’re right), you’ll be pilloried because maybe someone’s feelings will be hurt? I’m not sure how many people are willing to be labeled a bigot by reporting suspicious behavior, even if it does mean they’re preventing a terrorist attack or mass shooting, especially since they may be wrong. Unfortunately, they won’t always be wrong.
