Snow fell across some areas of the north Puget Sound region.

There were reports of snow in Stanwood, Everett, Lynnwood, Snoqualmie, and Lake Samish on Friday. Stanwood was the only location where it was accumulating.

Forecasters say the snow isn’t going to last. Heavy rain will move in Saturday night to Monday in Western Washington.

The National Weather Service expects 3 to 7 inches in the Cascades with the snow level rising to 4,500 to 6,000 feet. Forecasters expect up to 3 inches of rain in the Western Washington lowlands. The runoff could fill some rivers to flood stage by early next week.

Mountain snow is forecast at the higher elevations.

In Eastern Washington there’s a chance of valley snow or freezing rain into early next week.

Meanwhile, a Stage 1 burn ban is in effect for King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
