An Issaquah middle school is closed for a third straight day as a precaution after a threatening letter was found on campus.
The note was discovered outside of a classroom at Pacific Cascade Middle school on Wednesday. The district canceled classes Wednesday and decided to continue the closure through Friday.
The school district said the typed letter threatened violence against four Pacific Cascade Middle School staff members this Friday with reference to having access to a gun. It also included vague threats about violence at lunch or during the winter assembly on Friday.
The district is working with police on the investigation of the letter.
A $1,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the apprehension of the individual or individuals responsible for the threat.
A decision has not been made about how lost time at school will be made up.
