Jesse Jackson visits Seattle, speaks out about Michael Brown case

Dec 1, 2014, 7:33 AM | Updated: 9:30 am

The Reverend Jesse Jackson spoke to the congregation at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle on Sunday.

Jackson told several hundred people, “The jury freed Michael Brown’s killer. Enough is enough, is enough. Stop the killing.”

Jackson called for continued peaceful protests over the Michael Brown killing in Ferguson, Missouri.

Dozens of protesters were out on Seattle’s Capitol Hill over the weekend, spending their Saturday night throwing rocks and breaking windows. It was another in a series of demonstrations over the events in Ferguson, Missouri.

The SPD says demonstrators threw rocks through the window of the Ferrari dealership at 12th and Union and smashed the window of a police vehicle hitting an officer in the face with a rock.

Protesters are also organizing another event for Monday evening at 6 p.m. at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle.

Jackson is set to remain in the Puget Sound area Monday and Tuesday. He is scheduled to speak with students and staff at the TAF Academy in Kent, Monday. On Tuesday, Jackson will appear at the University of Washington.
