Student critically injured in Marysville-Pilchuck H.S. shooting passes away

Gia Soriano, one of four students critically injured in a shooting at Marysville-Pichuck High School, passed away Sunday night as a result of her injuries.
Providence Regional Medical Center said the 14-year-old girl’s trauma injuries were extensive.
The Soriano family released a brief statement:
We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter and words cannot express how much we will miss her. We’ve made the decision to donate Gia’s organs so that others may benefit. Our daughter was loving, kind and this gift honors her life.
Thank you to Providence for their excellent care – bar none – from beginning to end. Thank you to our friends and family who have supported us. Thank you to Drs. Bill Finley, Sanford Wright and Anita Tsen for their tremendous support and compassion. And thank you, to Bill and Ben with LifeCenter.
We ask that you please respect our privacy and give us the space and time we need to grieve and spend time together as a family in memory of Gia.
Providence is inviting the public for a moment of silence on Monday at 10:39 a.m., the time of the shooting Friday morning.
A gofundme page was established Sunday for the family of Soriano.
Three more students shot in the school cafeteria remain hospitalized.
Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, remains in critical condition in intensive care at Providence.
Nate Hatch, 14, has shown improvement, though he remained in satisfactory condition in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Fifteen-year-old Andrew Fryberg also remained in critical condition in intensive care.
Both boys are cousins of Jaylen Fryberg, the 14-year-old gunman who died at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has officially identified the student who died at the school Friday as Zoe Galasso, 14, a fellow classmate and friend of the shooter.
