Boeing delivering personal protective equipment, 3D printed face shields

Boeing might not be making airplanes right now, but it is making reusable face shields for healthcare workers.
What will Boeing’s Washington presence look like after crises?
Boeing is delivering the first 2,300 3D printed face shields to Dallas today. The company has the capability to make thousands of these reusable shields a week, using its plants in Puget Sound and across the country. Materials for these shields are coming from a variety of Boeing suppliers.
In addition to these face shields, Boeing has already donated thousands of personal protective equipment like masks, goggles, gloves, safety glasses and protective bodysuits. Boeing has also offered to use its Dreamlifters to ferry medical supplies across the country.

This comes as officials across the country has been scrambling to acquire more protective equipment for frontline medical workers. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee noted Thursday that while the state has been also able to return ventilators, it still has a “desperate need for PPE.”
